Why is this our last litter?

Toni and I have had to face facts - we are getting old! Since we always want to be available to support any of our puppies throughout their lives, we have to draw a line somewhere. We don’t want our puppies to outlive us if at all possible.

We had originally called our December 2024 litter the “Swan Song” litter - but that litter left us with some unfinished business. Breeding Sable and Bonnet brings together generations of dogs we have bred and loved. Behind Sable is Ch. Marvel’s Imagine-Ary Parade (Maggie) who came from Mary Tierney in 1995. We were apparently the first to use Ch. Ericson’s Royal Persuasion when we bred Maggie to him in 1999. A bitch from that litter is great-grandmother to Sable’s mother, Allie (who is 14+ and still with us). Sable’s paternal grandfather, Fraiser, was a litter brother to Maggie. Bonnet’s mother, Lola, is a daughter of Toni’s beloved GCH CH Markey’s Joy Ride, NAJ NF CGC TKI (Joy) and Michelle’s heart-dog, Adam, GCHB CH VJK-Myst Marvel’s Adam X-Treme. Adam’s grandfather, by the way, was a litter brother to our Maggie and Sable’s grandfather, Fraiser. These dogs have made up a large part of our lives and our days showing and loving GSPs. We look forward to seeing the shadow of all our past dogs in the puppies in this Grand Finale litter.
